About me

Sharing experiences from the margins to empower the next generations.

Alisha [she/they] is a fat, queer non-binary, autistic immigrant of colour, of Italian and Egyptian heritage living in Wales. They spent the last three decades writing about her experiences at the intersection of the systems of power from an intimist perspective.

She is the Education and Training Lead at Glitter Cymru and the Chair of Glitter Siblings, the branch of Glitter dedicated to marginalised genders.

She is a speaker and educator on matters of Intersectionality, Diversity, Equality and Inclusion with a special interest in the intersection of Queerness and Racialised experiences.

Their artistic practice is eclectic including written poetry, spoken word, collage work, always steeped in Intersectional theory, which can be seen in their online content which also includes Educational Video essays that, beginning from common pop and media culture, aim to share with people ways to develop Media Literacy and Critical Thinking.

A Few Experiences

Over the last years, Alisha has turned to spoken word performances, taking excerpts from their diary that demonstrate the curiosity of a neuro divergent mind trying to make its way through the quagmire of neurotypical societal expectations and transforming them in multimedia experiences which include the use of audio-visuals, photography and performance art to engage the audience to recognise what resonates in them as their own ability and value in sharing their life through Art.
